10/12/2006
EION Wireless (Booth 503), a division of EION Inc., has announced the appointment of three new executives to join its senior management team. David King has accepted the position of chief strategy officer with EION Inc.; Chris Beadle has been appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing; and Hassan Abdelghany will take on the role of vice president of Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. The executives combine leadership experience from service providers and equipment manufacturers in the broadband wireless market that strengthens the commitment of EION Inc. to deliver market-focused solutions that customers need, the company said. Prior to joining EION Wireless, King held senior executive positions at Compaq, Wi-LAN and Xerox. He was also the president and CEO of a private financial software company. King was also president and CEO of a venture capital consulting business specializing in corporate capital structure, institutional investment, public offerings and financial due diligence. King will be based in Calgary, Canada, and he will provide strategic direction to establish product, market and channel leadership for the company. Since 2002, Beadle has served as executive vice president and COO of Donorware Inc., a provider of outsourced technology services to nonprofit organizations. Beadle previously was vice president of marketing with Bell West from 2000 to 2002, and was vice president of sales from 1999 to 2000. He was also vice president of sales and marketing at TELUS Marketing Services from 1996 to 1999. Beadle holds an M.B.A. and a B.A. from the University of Toronto. Abdelghany will round out the new team by contributing his extensive broadband wireless and telecommunications experience in servicing major National Licensed Operators in the Middle East region over the last decade. As vice president of the company's operations in Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, Abdelghany will fulfill EION’s mandate to lead the company’s sales, marketing and customer support efforts in this important geographical region. Abdelghany holds an engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts. “The addition of these three senior executives shows EION’s strong commitment to our customers and channel partners and our long-term vision for establishing market leadership in providing broadband wireless solutions,” said Kalai Kalaichelvan, CEO of EION Inc. “I believe that they will play a key role in shaping the fast-growing broadband wireless market.” “With WiMAX being a catalyst for wireless convergence and the growing trends on market realignment for wireless products, EION is well-positioned with the strong RF product expertise and IP networking leadership,” said King.
